Jack White – Blunderbuss

Jack White has released his first solo album, titled Blunderbuss (Definition: A short-barrelled large-bored gun with a flared muzzle, used at short range and lacking in precision).

I was quite excited for this album, being a fan of the White Stripes and enjoying the music of the Dead Weather. This excitement was backed up after hearing the first single: Sixteen Saltines.

Unfortunately, however, Blunderbuss fails in being a complete and thoroughly enjoyable album.

TC Ink Music: Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine?

Introducing a hopefully renewed focus on music here at TC Ink. In the past we have updated a ‘song of the week’, but I think it’s time that we took the time to voice our opinions on, mainly new, music.

The Arctic Monkeys are a band I have never go into. The track propelled them into popularity, ‘I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor’, didn’t make me raise an eyebrow and since then they disappeared off my radar into the depths of disinterest.

Warner too Slow

Filed under: Cricket — by TC Ink @ 1:38 pm March 7, 2012

Out of all the Australian batsman, David Warner is the last who I would have expected to be criticising for batting too slowly in a one dayer.

Australia’s last over ODI defeat to India on Friday was the culmination of the worst fielding performance by an Australian team I have ever seen.

Among the main offenders were probably the two people you would least expect – Ricky Ponting and David Warner. They contributed lacklustre misfields to the dismal display that featured consistently throughout the Indian innings.

TCE Players Peter Nevill and Stephen O’Keefe in Action Today

Look out for new TC Ink Endorsed Players. A full introduction of that coming soon.

Today, NSW Blues Keeper Peter Nevill will begin the day batting with spinning all-rounder Steve O’Keefe in the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania. Updates on how they go to come…

Not the best day for NSW today. Nevill only made 10 before he played a poor shot to be caught, O’Keefe fought on for 35.

Defending only 150, Copeland (also a TCE player) and O’Keefe managed a wicket a piece before Tassy chased down the runs.

The Blues will be in action again in a weeks time.

Covell Award Nomination: Darren Lockyer

Filed under: Covell Award,Footy,TC Ink — by TC Ink @ 8:22 pm December 7, 2011

Just when you thought the nominations were all over, Darren Lockyer decided to try and win the only award he has never won with his last play ever in competitive rugby league. And I dare say he may have done it…

Don’t Drop Hughes ‘Cause Shield Cricketers Can’t Catch??

Filed under: Cricket,TC Ink — by TC Ink @ 10:34 am

This is the ideology held by Phillip Hughes’ former coach Steve Thomlinson, reveal in this SMH article. The underperforming New South Welshman should not go back to Shield cricket, because he will get away with ‘stuff’ and therefore not correct his technique.
